The Minor Thirds

Sunday, August 6, 2006

So! Last night, as the heat started up again, we played a multiple-birthday show at Charlotte and Doug's. It was a fun night: After some tasty (and food-coma-inducing) barbeque action, Celesteville opened up with one of the most shocking sets he's done yet, including some fantastic choreography and, finally, "Easy Lover", performed on the armonica. Martin Mushrush followed up with his songs, getting gasps of shock and delight from the cat-loving audience.

We played an "all the hits" set, which it turns out means a lot of vigorous strumming, which means we need to work on some more power ballad type hits in order to preserve our precious bodliy resources. We had two very special guests: the Countess von Hellpet joined us again for another stunning rendition of "If This Song Doesn't Make Me A Million Bucks..." and, for his live show debut, young Finn McCool joined us for "Seattle":

It was a sweaty and fun night. Photos and video were taken, which might be available someday. Here's the setlist:

1. The Homonculus Stomp
2. 300
3. Adam And Eve On A Raft
4. Seattle
5. Houston
6. The Innocent Bystander's Song
7. The Theives' Guild
8. Twin Cities (and Vicinity)
9. Moose Jaw
10. (Turn Up The) RADIO! THE RADIO!
