The Minor Thirds

Monday, May 31, 2004

Yesterday there was a big brunch show at the Penguin Pit. The brunch was held as a CD release party for Ned Raggett's new album, π, in which Ned reads the beloved irrational number for 45 minutes.

Well, Ned didn't read π at brunch (probably for the best), but he did read some exceprts from a novel he's working on, as well as from a 1978 science text book for second graders, filled with deep questions such as "What do you do with air?"

Other people joined in with music, including Celesteville, Julia Fernandez, Ross Beach, Jason Aspy, Jack Tuftee, and of course, the Minor Thirds.

We played a bunch of sweeter and lighter songs for this fine Sunday afternoon. It was a very nice time, and thanks to all who came and brought food and listened! Here are some pictures and here's our setlist:

1. The Thieves' Guild
2. Welcome To The Occultation
3. Meat Shower [Between The Lions]
4. Bette Davis Eyes [Kim Carnes]
5. Chickens
6. Pack Up Your Gramma
7. The Giraffe
