So, first off, Chris is doing much better now. Thanks for all your well-wishes.
Second off: So. There was this Bronwyn show tonight, and they were going to play with Tami Hart, but apparently Tami was double-booked and decided to do the Homo-A-Gogo festival up in Olympia. So Bronwyn asked Celesteville and us to play at the last minute. Which, of course, we were more than happy to do, since of course we were going to the show anyway, because Bronwyn is like bread (but really good bread, not that nasty Wonder stuff).
I digress.
It was also especially fortuitous because our good friend Paul from New York was in town, and he hadn't had a chance to see us yet. So we got to play for Paul. Paul enjoyed all three bands a lot, which is entirely understandable.
It was another amped show, and I tell you, we are going to have to get used to those. Chris always ends up screaming, and Charlotte can't hear herself sing. What we lacked in nuance we gained in enthusiasm, I guess; people (including us) had a good time.
And we ended with Lesbian on Skis, which number-one Minor Thirds fan Karen asked us not to do, because she couldn't make it to the show due to its last-minuteness. Nevertheless, those who go to shows -- especially those who organize them and ask us to play -- get to make the requests. Not only did Sarah and Richel from Bronwyn want to hear the song, they wanted to play along. Richel sang and played the Happy Monk Rock maraca and Sarah played drums. It was loud and crazy and there was a lot of yelling. It was, really, terrific. (Sorry, k.)
But I am glad that it wasn't recorded, and it only lives in the memories of those at the show. Jake said something about not listening to our album while he reviewed it; memories are beautiful things.
OK, I'll shut up and drink now. Also, I'll admit that it would be nice to have a recording of State Trooper, in which Chris yelled quite, quite a lot. Here's the setlist:
